Totally, like really good to be back here in your ears. So let's get it. So last time I told you a bit about me and how music has always been more than just a background noise in my life.
n. It's story time. It was in:Literally the first year of high school, Milo came through on a school tour stop.
And for those who don't know, Milo is this chocolate malt drink, like super, super popular in they'd like pull up at schools, hand out free cups and the whole place would like shut down. I mean total shut down. I was in line, sweaty, hungry. I mean, there's one now. You know how it is. Waiting for a free cup of Milo like every other kid.
And then I heard a sound that changed my life. I'm Debanj o'. Shea. It was a Dibanj record scapegoat. The beat, the guitar, that Don Jazzy layered background vocal. Oh my God.
It hijacked the moment for me. I forgot about the Milo. I forgot about the song. All I knew was I needed to feel that again. It was special.
And for me, switch flipped and music was never the same again. So there I was, just a kid in uniform chasing a cup of Milo. But what I got instead was a life changing moment wrapped in sound.
Funny how a free drink and a debounce track can change your life. That was the moment music stopped being just a sound, just a background noise. So the moment, it became a core memory.
Ever since, I've been chasing that feeling. I mean, you know that one that hits you right in the chest, that kind of track that freezes time, that makes you feel seen even if nobody's looking.
You never forget such moments. So now I'm flipping the mic to you. What was the first time music really hit you? Like stopped you in your tracks type of hit? Was it a live show?
